Doug Black is CEO, Oldcastle Materials, Inc. Doug holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business (Fuqua Scholar) and a BS in Mathematical Science/Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point. While at West Point, Doug was a Division I-A AP All-American running back in football and set the Army’s single season rushing record. Doug is also the recipient of NCAA and National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete Awards. Doug served as a US Army Engineer Officer from 1986 to 1990 and completed projects in Ecuador, Honduras, and the Bahamas, as well as across the Southeastern United States. Doug retired from military service in 1990. Doug started his business career with McKinsey & Company, completing strategy, sales force effectiveness and plant improvement projects in the telecommunications, cable television, airline, lumber, paper and packaging industries. Doug started his career with Oldcastle, Inc. as Vice President of Business Development in 1995. In 1996, Doug helped create the Oldcastle Distribution Division with the acquisition of Allied Building Products. Doug was President of Oldcastle Precast Southeast Division from 1996 to 2000 and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, Oldcastle Architectural, Inc., in 2000. From 2000 to 2006 that Division grew to over 200 locations in 34 states and two Canadian provinces, 8,000 employees and $2.2 billion in annual sales. Doug held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, Oldcastle Architectural, Inc., from 2002 to July 2006. In 2006, Doug was named to serve as President, Oldcastle Materials Group, and today, Doug is Chief Executive Officer of Oldcastle Materials. Doug and his wife, Joanne, reside in Atlanta with their two sons, JD and Justin.
